How it’s worked out

  • Your SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG shares come off first.
  • Withholding tax is worked out on the rest with the TRAIN law’s yearly brackets: nothing up to ₱250,000 a year, then 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% and 35% on each portion above.
  • Tax-free (de minimis) allowances are added back after tax. Paid twice a month, each payday gets half.

Rates as of October 2026. These are estimates for an ordinary employee, not tax or legal advice; your payslip and the agencies have the final word.

Questions

How much tax do I pay on ₱30,000 a month?
About ₱1,007.50 a month. After ₱2,450 in contributions, ₱27,550 is taxable, which is ₱330,600 a year: 15% of the ₱80,600 above ₱250,000.
Is minimum wage taxed?
No. Minimum wage earners are exempt from income tax, and anyone whose taxable pay is ₱250,000 a year or less pays none.
Does my 13th month pay change this?
Not unless your 13th month and other bonuses go over ₱90,000 in a year; the part above that is taxed.
